Dreamweaver: Lesson 6 - Creating Image Maps

Dreamweaver also includes tools that integrate the process of creating an image map. If you create a new page called places.html and insert the graphic map.jpg, an image map can be added to this picture by clicking on one of the Map buttons in the properties palette.

The map buttons display a dialog box from where you can draw directly onto the image, indicating links to new pages. Use the rectangular, elliptical or irregular drawing tools to draw around the section of the page that you wish to transform into a hot spot, then, in the properties palette, type a URL into the Link box. Dreamweaver indicates hot spots by a light blue box, as in the illustration below.
